NCOA Changes:
What is going to change: The National Change of address is now requiring that all mailing lists will now have to be run through their processing system before mailing.
Why are they doing this: This will save time and money for the post office initially and you in the end. With out running your lists through the NCOA your most likely sending a portion of your mailings to addresses that no longer pertain to your prospects. This is a waste of postage and creates an expensive and timely process for the post office to return your undeliverable mail.
How will this affect you: a small fee with be added per direct mail campaign to run your list through the NCOA process. This process will clean you list for bad addresses, save you money and can be easily processed in the same day.
Implications if you do not follow these guidelines: If you choose not to run your list through the NCOA the post office will charge you for every returned piece of mail in your campaign.
